The Dust Poof of the Day! 🙂
Photo of the day goes to the dust off the glove of this Washoe catcher! I love these shots!

OK, this story is just too good not to share!  I’m in a unique position, I spend a large part of the tournament kneeling in front of the dugouts on all the fields… so I get to hear a lot of what goes on with the kids.  Well, on Saturday… as this fella’s running out to bat, someone in the dugout yells, “… I’ll give you 10 bucks if you hit a home run!”… so out he trots to the dish… I believe the other team was making a pitching change so the 3rd base coach was chatting with him and very distinctly (as you can see in the photo…) where he wanted him to drive the ball… 🙂
Up to the plate, thank you very much, I’ll just go yard with that one!  … and with a  huge smile (you’ll have to look that photo up in the gallery…) the first words he says when he returns from his journey around the bases… “… you owe me 10 bucks!” 🙂

Sorry, got a little behind with Photo of the Day… Friday night’s 7:30 game brought me my photo of the day… This is my 11th year shooting all star tournaments, so I’ve seen a lot of things out here. Â I wanted to give this fella a shout out for his performance on Friday night.
When you walk up to a field with the 12’s you see a full range of sizes, some kids have hit that growth spurt and others haven’t… but baseball is a sport that doesn’t require a particular physique… at the beginning of the game, you can always kinda hear the hushed chatter of the kids making “impressions” of the pitchers that are warming up… these days a lot of these kids are playing each other in travel ball tournaments so sometimes they know each other…
So… I wanted to give a shout out to Mr. Davis. Â He’s not 6 foot, 220 lbs. but at the end of the game, he was STILL on the mound for Reno American with the win. Â Bravo for doing your job!

Starting with the 2017 High School Baseball season I’m moving all my photo galleries to a new platform! Â Check it out here!
I’ve been using the same gallery template and method for quite a few years now and it’s unsupported by the company that I got the plug in from so… it’s time to make a change.  It will be one of those, for better or worse kinda things… so I’m sorry for the “worse” things and I hope the “better” things prove to be truly “better”! 🙂
First thing you’re going to notice if you make a purchase… I’m no longer in the fulfillment part of the transaction.  The new company handles all of it, at a cost, of course…. as of June 27th I’ve not raised the pricing to accommodate this increase in cost but considering I’ve held my pricing steady for the past three years when all my costs have been going up, please do not be surprised when the pricing does go up in the next few months. (Update, prices are going up July 11th… so get your orders in ASAP!)
So… what does this mean?  For the galleries that I do have on the new site (I’ll be working on putting more on there…)… When you submit that shopping cart now, they’re asking for money and you will not be able to proceed without a paid credit card transaction (with a 3.75% credit card convenience fee (added in August 2016).  Once paid, you’ll receive the prints/products in the mail from one of the three vendors I’ve chosen to fulfill the orders.  This is a catch 22… I’ve now got additional products that I’ve been able to add but it means that I will not be meeting you somewhere in town for delivery…. (for better or worse…).
I will be continuing to work on a method of how to communicate to me for collages as those are all custom products (even template collages…) and I’m hoping to also add back in “local fulfillment” to that mix so in the mean time, I’d love to hear your feedback but keep in mind that the new submit button will take you through the entire transaction process now.
See you out on the field!
Jeff
The winter break is over and league play has resumed… caught a few Carson High Basketball games before… but now the real grind of League starts… Â Here are some shots from previous games…
As always, check out the galleries at the link to the left or here…
Damonte Ranch High School hosted the 2016 NIAA 4A Northern Regional Championship Soccer matches on this BEAUTIFUL Northern Nevada Fall day, WOW is about all I can say for the conditions!  I was chatting with Jay Beesemyer after the boys game how good the weather always seems to be for the Northern Region Championship games… we’re lucky! (watch, next year will be snowing… 🙂 )
I’m going to just flat out say it, MOST all of Northern Nevada missed great soccer games today… I unfortunately had to leave after the boys game but the boys game was hard fought as one would expect. Â Galena eeked out the win 1-0 on a 7th minute free kick… SUPER tough angle for the goal keeper to judge and even see the ball with the sun and that was the lone goal, that one minor detail that has so many countless times been the deciding factor in a game where the teams are so closely matched. Â Tough loss for Carson, great win for Galena who will for sure represent Northern Nevada well at the State Tournament next week in Vegas.
On to the photos… you’ll see very quickly the theme that jumped out at me… this was a battle…

A very early celebration from a goal off a free kick… this would be the only goal of the match!

They fought this PAST the end line of the field… yea, it was a little scary as they were coming right at me… 🙂
I guess technically speaking that’s not REALLY legal… but… 🙂

A CRACKING shot on goal, hit the football uprights and rang out pretty loud…
Love the determination on his face!
Jay Beesemyer with the coveted trophy! Â Congrats Galena on a great season! Â Go represent Northern Nevada at the State Tournament!
