A Champion Crowned… Reno National 10’s won the Nevada District 1 Championship tonight in the “if” game… another very close battle with Reno American tonight!  Congrats Reno National!!… and the Photo of the Day… I just love the concentration and determination in his face!  He made the play too… that’s always a plus!

Day 9 and now a day break for the 4th of July!!! I’m ready for a break… will probably still have a camera around tomorrow but… looking forward to not running around the baseball park with a big heavy one! 🙂

Congrats to Washoe Little League’s 11 year old All Star teams for their win in tonight’s championship game!!  They’ll be back in two weeks to play at the Nevada State Little League Tournament… right back here in Carson at Governor’s Field, starts on the 19th.

The 10 year old game will go the the “if” game on Saturday as Reno American won tonight giving Reno National their first loss of the tournament.  They’ll meet again Saturday to decide the championship.

Photo of the Day… it turned out to not be a pivotal moment in the game but it sure makes for a fun photo!!  I’ll let it speak for itself…. 🙂

Tomorrow is Championship Day for the 10’s and 11’s… the 12’s will continue through their tournament through Tuesday (assuming no “if” game…).

Come on out and see two championship Little League games tomorrow night, one at 5:30 and one at 8:00 on Field 2 at Governor’s Field in Carson City.

Photo of the Day… going for “Style Points” tonight… this Carson right fielder made the catch… probably made it look a bit harder than it really was but I’ll give him the Style Award for the night. 🙂

The tournaments are winding down… only two more days until the 10 and 11 year old Championships!!  The competition is heating up!  Back to a “Jube” photo for tonight with a little story to explain…

Bottom of the 6th inning (they play 6 in Little League…), South Tahoe just went up two runs to make the score 4-2…  Two outs… Reno Continental runner on 1st after a cracking hit deep to the outfield… the next batter smacks one, and I mean smacks it hard… the South Tahoe shortstop jumps up and snatches it right out of the air to end the game… this is the reaction after… I could REALLY do without that SUV in the background but the faces make up for it all…

Monday Night Baseball… at Governor’s Field in Carson City!!  It got a bit warm tonight during the first set of games… our typical wind wasn’t blowing… the later games were quite amazing!  Even a very cool display of clouds in the sky tonight…… but onto the important things… the Photo of the Day!!  Love the action here… love then intensity on that ball!  Good stuff!

The two longest days of the tournament are now behind us… whew!  Made it, pretty tired… roughly 2,500 photos are now up in the photo galleries… 🙂

Here’s the Photo of the Day… a rough rough night for the Carson City 12’s in their opening game… here’a  play by their shortstop that helped a bit… the sun is a bear around 7:45ish but it makes this photo look pretty nice!  Love how the sun lights up the ball!

The long day… 15 games, was at the fields today for 15 hours… I’m tired… so just a quick post with the photo of the day…

Sports photographers refer to it as “jube”… or Jubilation… this is what it’s all about, how happy can you be to smack a home run!?!?!?  You can always tell when the 12’s start their tournament, the balls go flying out of the park!  Congrats on your home run!

Day three already!  Rolling fast through the tournament… ALL DAY tomorrow at the park… 15 total games!  There will also be a Challenger game on field 5… well worth taking a look at these kids… it’s truly one of those “for the love of the game” kinda things…

The Intermediate’s (50/70) kicked off tonight as well… Just two teams in that bracket (that’s one more than last year…), Carson and Centennial… Carson came back from a 3-1 deficit in the 7th inning to win 4-3… should be another great game tomorrow night on field 6.

Photo of the Day… I’d like to call this one player of the night really… South Tahoe shortstop Jaden made several plays tonight that helped his team eek out a 2-1 win in a VERY close and competitive game against Reno American.

Day Two and the competition is heating up!  Some very very closely matched teams out there… Stop by and check out a game or two… or four… 🙂  It’s easy to do, depending on the day there are as many as four games playing at one time!
