Douglas High Basketball tonight…

I really enjoy a lot of what I do… but there’s something about the Douglas High Boy’s Varsity Basketball team that I really love to watch and photograph… their work rate… the hustle, the desire, the will to win… they show it and that makes their games exciting.  And the hard work paid off tonight, Faith Christian out of Vegas never could get back to within enough points to even really consider themselves with a chance of winning.

Well done fellas, keep the push on and the results will follow.

Be sure to check out all the images from tonight at the link to the right for Douglas High Athletics or click HERE.

Call for Students, Camera Class soon…

Getting a new camera for Christmas (oh, you’re not supposed to know, shhhh, I won’t tell…)

Want to know how to make your camera give you the results you expect?

Bring your camera and take my camera class!!

If you’re interested, please let me know so I can book a space and get food arranged.

It will run about three hours or until your head explodes… photo geeks can talk shutter for longer than should be allowed… it includes dinner and it’s best if you can bring your camera!   Don’t have one yet… that’s OK, you’ll get to try everyone else’s before you make the decision which one you want to buy!!

Here’s a basic outline of the class…

This class fills in the missing part between what your camera manual tells you and buying a photography book on photography techniques. We discuss some photography fundamentals and then get into the functions of your camera and how to adjust your settings to make the photos you want to make. It lasts about three hours or as long as you can stand… Here’s part of the class handout…

December 2010 Photo Print Discount…

I’m having a sale on photo prints until the end of the month!

Buy one & get another one of the same size 1/2 off. (does not have to be the same photo or reprint…) (this includes league team & individual photos)

So, if you’ve had a collage made  (ever) and want to give the Grandparents one for Christmas… if you wanted to order those 4×6 prints… or upgrade to 5×7 now…  NOW is the time to order!!

This offer is good until December 31st…  And (hint here…) if you were thinking of a collage… prices will be “changing” January 1st… I will honor the price that is on the website until December 31st… I can’t say if they’ll be going up or down… we have a lot of things on there and it’s going to get an overhaul… Template collages will remain essentially the same, custom collages will be changing and Signature Posters will be going away forever… I’m working on a new template design that will be something new and different… When I get that one done I’ll post it here!

Contact me at (775) 790-1121 or via the website form (which sends me an e-mail) or e-mail me at jeff@instaimage.com

New home page for our website!

I’m trying to make our “service” more dynamic for you!  So… as you can see I’ve made some pretty significant changes to our website’s home page… basically I’ve merged our home page and our blog together into one…  I’m still working on one part… and it’s getting the better of me but I’ll keep working on it!!  All of this of course required some small tinkering behind the scenes so if you find something that I goofed up, please let me know and I’ll get it fixed ASAP.

Thank you for your interest in our site and our work!!  See you out at some event soon!

Basketball Season’s started!!

Out at Carson High tonight for the start of Basketball Season!!

Carson is hosting their Capital Classic, they opened with South Tahoe tonight… CHS was able to handle STHS pretty easily in their first game… and just as Coach Barnes stated in the paper this morning, a lot of different looks up top with the ball handling… good for me, I get a wide variety of the fellas playing… bad for opponents….

Good luck with your season fellas.

Carson High Boy’s Soccer Banquet

Check out the photo slideshow I put on for the Carson High Boy’s Soccer Banquet last night… http://facebook.com/instaimage

The team had a great year!  Ten of the Varsity team received All League honors, the most of any Northern Nevada team including Defensive Player of the Year!  Well done fellas.

The JV Team continued their remarkable efforts… in three seasons they’ve been beaten once… ONCE!!!  Two of the last three years undefeated, they only allowed ten total goals against them this year.  This is great news for the upcoming years at Carson High.  Next year should be another great year.

… tis the season for… championships!

State Championships, regional playoff wins, league championships… and exciting week for sports in our area!

A big congratulations to the Douglas High Volleyball and Girl’s Soccer teams on their STATE championships!

Carson Pop Warner Jr Midgets won Snow Bowl and are headed to Regionals.

Carson High Football beat Reed to advance to the Northern Region 4A Championship next week vs. McQueen.

… then we start Basketball…

Senior Portraits

In case you aren’t aware… we’re doing senior portraits.

Shoot me an email jeff@instaimage.com and I’ll forward you a price list.  As you also know we don’t have a studio but look around, we live in an amazingly beautiful place, shooting in a building seem almost silly, although I also offer that as well!

Drop me an email, fall colors aren’t totally gone yet… but they’re going quick.

Some changes occurring with instaimage…

Hi all,

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sorting out how this is all going to work, I’m hoping that it won’t effect too much but I’ve joined the ranks and am a substitute teacher for the Carson City School District.  Because one very nice, smart person within the District I’m fortunate to be able to have this opportunity.  Thank you, if you’re reading this you know who you are… I REALLY appreciate it.

Why am I doing this?

Bottomline… literally, my family bottomline, I’m taking a “second” job, beyond CEO, COO, CFO, chief photographer and head grunt of our photography business, we need the income.  I hope to someday be able, like the rest of you… to send my two girls to college, that has to start now.  So as I mentioned, I’m hoping this doesn’t cut into much of what I’m trying to accomplish with photographing as I currently am….
