New home page for our website!

I’m trying to make our “service” more dynamic for you!  So… as you can see I’ve made some pretty significant changes to our website’s home page… basically I’ve merged our home page and our blog together into one…  I’m still working on one part… and it’s getting the better of me but I’ll keep working on it!!  All of this of course required some small tinkering behind the scenes so if you find something that I goofed up, please let me know and I’ll get it fixed ASAP.

Thank you for your interest in our site and our work!!  See you out at some event soon!

Basketball Season’s started!!

Out at Carson High tonight for the start of Basketball Season!!

Carson is hosting their Capital Classic, they opened with South Tahoe tonight… CHS was able to handle STHS pretty easily in their first game… and just as Coach Barnes stated in the paper this morning, a lot of different looks up top with the ball handling… good for me, I get a wide variety of the fellas playing… bad for opponents….

Good luck with your season fellas.

Carson High Boy’s Soccer Banquet

Check out the photo slideshow I put on for the Carson High Boy’s Soccer Banquet last night… http://facebook.com/instaimage

The team had a great year!  Ten of the Varsity team received All League honors, the most of any Northern Nevada team including Defensive Player of the Year!  Well done fellas.

The JV Team continued their remarkable efforts… in three seasons they’ve been beaten once… ONCE!!!  Two of the last three years undefeated, they only allowed ten total goals against them this year.  This is great news for the upcoming years at Carson High.  Next year should be another great year.

… tis the season for… championships!

State Championships, regional playoff wins, league championships… and exciting week for sports in our area!

A big congratulations to the Douglas High Volleyball and Girl’s Soccer teams on their STATE championships!

Carson Pop Warner Jr Midgets won Snow Bowl and are headed to Regionals.

Carson High Football beat Reed to advance to the Northern Region 4A Championship next week vs. McQueen.

… then we start Basketball…

Senior Portraits

In case you aren’t aware… we’re doing senior portraits.

Shoot me an email jeff@instaimage.com and I’ll forward you a price list.  As you also know we don’t have a studio but look around, we live in an amazingly beautiful place, shooting in a building seem almost silly, although I also offer that as well!

Drop me an email, fall colors aren’t totally gone yet… but they’re going quick.

Some changes occurring with instaimage…

Hi all,

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sorting out how this is all going to work, I’m hoping that it won’t effect too much but I’ve joined the ranks and am a substitute teacher for the Carson City School District.  Because one very nice, smart person within the District I’m fortunate to be able to have this opportunity.  Thank you, if you’re reading this you know who you are… I REALLY appreciate it.

Why am I doing this?

Bottomline… literally, my family bottomline, I’m taking a “second” job, beyond CEO, COO, CFO, chief photographer and head grunt of our photography business, we need the income.  I hope to someday be able, like the rest of you… to send my two girls to college, that has to start now.  So as I mentioned, I’m hoping this doesn’t cut into much of what I’m trying to accomplish with photographing as I currently am….

Carson Football Playoff Win!!

Welcome back Dylan Sawyers… four touchdowns, don’t know how many yards… the paper will have all those stats tomorrow…  The team was trying different things tonight, mixing what they have done the past few weeks without Dylan and then he’d get the ball and… well… Dylan is Dylan I guess.

Carson will meet Reed next Friday at 7:00 PM.  The NIAA website still states the location is to be determined but I can’t image that it won’t be at Carson as they’re the higher ranked team…

I only shot tonight with a Canon 400mm 2.8/f L lens.  A bit of a challenge as it’s, like the 300mm 2.8 that I had a few weeks ago, a very different piece of equipment than I currently own… it’s great for getting out and isolating the individual, as I like to do when I shoot.  I’m also able to stay out of the team area a lot easier with this length of a lens, gives me a different angle than what I typically have.  Fun to play!!  Would I be able to justify having one of these lenses?

First round playoff win for Carson Girl’s Soccer…

Another tough game at CHS tonight, Carson kept a lot of pressure on McQueen and shored up the defense, #10 on McQueen, she’s serious bad news for a defense!  Carson was able to put two in the net later in the second half to win 5-3 and advance to the next round of the playoffs on Thursday in Reno.  Good Luck Ladies!

Here’s my favorite shot from the night… a very graceful stride… on her way to her second goal of the night.  As I mentioned in my Facebook post, I wish her arm was a touch lower but the ball and both of her feel in the air… enjoy!

First round playoff win for Carson Boy’s Soccer…

Tough game for sure, Reno came to play, probably the best game I’ve seen this year… you wouldn’t think you were watching a top ranked team vs. a lower ranked team…  I know Carson was expecting to win but Reno didn’t lay down for them…  I think Carson would have ultimately won… scoring their own goal but a deflected ball ended up in the net in overtime… game over!  Win goes to Carson.

Carson Varsity Volleyball Senior Night

The night was just about perfect for the Lady Senator’s last night… The gym was full of smiles, they won the game and they had fun!

Check out the action gallery HERE.  Here are a few fun shots from last night.  I wish each of you the very best of luck in your future journeys!

Tonight I got more shots that I like!  I tried some new things and shot a lot more… shooting more, there’s a grand idea!  Enjoy!
