Two lopsided games tonight at Carson High… both Carson teams coming away with big wins… and shutouts… and the varsity, despite giving up a lot of yards, pulled out a shutout… Here’s some game action, more from tonight as well as last night’s Freshman game are under Current Events to the side or Leagues & Events.

The Carson High Freshman Football team ran into a tough North Valleys side tonight… I was impressed with the quarterback of the North Valleys team… looks like he’s going to be someone to consider over the next few years!

With the school year comes the rivalries!! The Douglas Girl’s Varsity team defeated the Carson team last night at DHS… today, Carson took a win on the road… here are some shots from today’s game.

I’ve got to make a comment about this next shot… these days I might look more like a soccer ball than years past but I’ve put my years on the playing field… This, my Carson defender friends, is NOT the way you defend a header… Luck he’s far enough out from the goal that this wasn’t much of a threat… makes for a nice photo! Thanks! 🙂
Some volleyball action tonight from Carson High… All three teams played tonight, they resume action Thursday on the Road, good luck ladies!

Some JV and Freshman Action too…!
Carson High hosted Reno High on Wednesday… The Senator’s Varsity didn’t play “as well as we can,” quoting Coach Masters (Nevada Appeal) and dropped one 1-2 to Reno in this opening home game for the season. The Carson JV Squad opened the season with a 4-0 win. Here are some game shots… see more on the website, click Carson High Athletics to the left!

You should check out the photos last year of this central defender… you won’t recognize him (haircut…)! Always a pleasure to watch this fella, always giving his all on the field, great to see!
Jason added a penalty kick to even the score but Reno came back in the end during the run of play to score the go ahead…

Carson hosted a scrimmage today against McQueen High… it was a new experience for me, never been to a high school football “scrimmage” before… interesting day for sure! Here are some shots from the “scrimmage”. My understanding is that they don’t play each other during the season and would only meet if they both reach the playoffs. Good luck to all the teams this year!

There’s a battle for the starting QB position at Carson, here’s a shot of each of the candidates!
Here are some shots from today… this first one was my test shot… a shot that I take every event we do… I just typically “kinda” aim the camera somewhere… quite literally I just point it somewhere, just holding it in my hand, not looking through the viewfinder… and click… well, this is what came out of the camera! We liked it… so I kept it! What I like the best about it, 100% unintentional… is that I’ve got the Lane 4 Blocks… if I was going to compose a shot like this, the Lane 4 blocks would be the one that I’d want… dumb luck sometimes makes something nice!
Some race action! Each of the strokes for a little variety. I’m doing something “different” tomorrow at the tent… We always have samples… I’m bringing a “different” sample tomorrow for a change… I’m anxious to see the reaction. Maybe make a “splash”! 🙂

It happened tonight! Washoe got the better of Carson tonight, they meet again tomorrow and the Nevada District 1 11/12 Champion will be crowned! Good luck to both teams, tonight was a good close game, good hard play by both teams, I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s game!
