The Nevada State Junior & Senior Little League Tournament is being held at Governor’s Field in Carson City this week.  The games are at 5:30 and 8:00 if you want to get out to see a game… did I mention it’s free?  🙂

Carson Juniors defeated Peccole Juniors and Paseo Verde Juniors defeated Silverada Juniors.  Carson Seniors were ahead against Mountain Ridge Seniors when I left (sorry guys, I’ll be at your game tomorrow… I have football photos tomorrow at 6:45am…)

And the tourney goes on… one more night!  The Reno Continental team forced the “if” game against Washoe tonight and will play again tomorrow night at Governor’s Field.

A note about our status… “WE” will not be there, meaning my wife and the tent will not be set up tomorrow… our “home away from home” has all been packed up.  I will be at the game to shoot it and will post all the images from the night here on the site…

Photo of the Day… The first home run celebration at home plate for Reno Continental!

The Championship is tomorrow!  7:30 Field 2 at Governor’s Field.  The third place game will be held on field 4 at 7:30.

The photo of the day… a “controversial” call during the game, it was VERY close… and even the photo doesn’t show it… I need a shot milliseconds prior to this… 🙂 looks to me that the umpire got it exactly right!  

I also want to put in a second photo… I don’t know what to say… so I’m just going to post the photo… thank you Reno American for asking me to shoot this photo.

The tournament is winding down… at the start of the evening there were six teams left… now just five, the Championship is set, Washoe will face Reno Continental on Tuesday evening 7:30 PM on field 2 at Governor’s Field in Carson City.  Tonight Reno Continental defeated Reno National to head to the Championship… Tomorrow (Monday) Reno American will face Carson City to see who will face Reno National in the Third Place game on Tuesday…

Congratulations Washoe 10-11’s!  Yesterday they forced the Championship into the “IF” game and tonight they came away as District 1 Champs!   The looser’s bracket is a tough way to come back but these fellas dug down and made it happen!  Great job fellas!

Congratulations to the Sparks Centennial 9-10 year olds in their championship!  Watch out in the coming years for these fellas!

In the 10-11 year olds… Washoe forced the “IF” game tomorrow at 8:00 PM by winning tonight.  They will play again tomorrow on field 4 at Governor’s Field in Carson.

There were some great games tonight!!  The tournaments for the 9/10 and 10/11’s are wrapping up… the championships are set… The Championships are on Friday, the 9/10’s at 5:30 and the 10/11’s at 8:00 on Field 2…

Happy July 4th!!  The tournament takes a rest on the 4th of July!

The Photo of the Day… something different… not typically the place you want to be for a lefty… but, when you’re here and he’s up and you can’t get to the other side… at least try to make something of it…  This “hit” has some significance… this is the hit that put Carson Valley through to the next round!  A close game with two homers by the Carson City team, one to tie the game at 3 all going into the sixth inning…!  With runners on base… a game winning hit brought the needed run in the bottom of the 6th for Carson Valley.  Stop by our tent and pick up your Photo of the Day prize.

The tournaments are heating up… some teams going home after some battles in the consolation bracket, some super winner’s bracket games… a lot of baseball played… and a lot still to come!
