Centennial will meet the winner of tomorrow night’s game on Saturday for the Nevada District 1 Junior Division Championship! Game time will be 7:30 on field 1 at Governor’s Field.
Field 6 will also have the Nevada State Intermediate Tournament going on at 7:30 as well!
Come on out and watch some free baseball! Get a Ranger Burger at the snack bar… your waistline will not appreciate it but your taste buds will! 🙂
Photo of the Day! Couldn’t pass this one up… arms flailing everywhere from everyone…
Just to clarify… I will be shooting the next two nights at the Junior All Star Tournament… then we will have our tent set up again on Saturday and Sunday evenings for the Junior Championship and for the Intermediate State Tournament…
We will be set up each evening for the Nevada State Tournament which starts Saturday, July 19th.
Now just down to the Junior’s Division of the Nevada District 1 Little League Tournament… Photo of the Day was a close call at third… dirt flyin’, the runner and the 3rd baseman gettin’ dirty! Tournament Baseball anyone?! 🙂 Two games tomorrow (Thursday July 10th for those of us that have no recollection of what day or date it might be…). Reno American will play Reno Continental at 5:30 on Field 1 and Carson will play Centennial at 8:00 on Field 1. (field 6 will be converted back to a 50/70 field for Saturday’s State Tournament).
Congratulations to Reno National for their win tonight in the 12 year old Nevada District 1 Little League Tournament!! They will go onto the Nevada State Little League Tournament that starts July 19th in Carson City at Governor’s Field.
Reno National had mostly commanding wins over every opponent, they’re going to be fun to watch during the State Tournament! Well done fellas!!
The Nevada District 1 Junior All Stars are now currently playing on Field’s 1 and 6 at Governor’s Field, their championship game is Saturday. I will be shooting the games the rest of the week but our tent will not be “functional”, (… meaning my wife and kids need a break from baseball for a few days…)… we will have everything set up Saturday for the Junior Championship and the Intermediate Division will begin their State Tournament on Saturday as well.
Photo of the Day… I know I’ve already had one of these players in a Photo of the Day… I just have to use this one… Another “Jube” photo… but this says it all, it’s that moment when it actually happens and you get to let out that giant sigh of relief… Congrats fellas!!
Championship night tomorrow for the 12’s, the Juniors got rolling tonight… Reno National will play Washoe for the 12’s championship tomorrow night at 7:30. Get out and support your team!
Quick post tonight with just a photo from the Junior’s game… it’s a lot of fun to see these players evolve over the years… I’ve seen the younger players run straight into this tag and here the runner made the move to evade the tag… and the play on the field was ruled safe… it didn’t end up impacting the game but it makes for good documentation… 🙂
The 12 year olds are now winding down… two games tonight, a looser’s bracket (the winner goes to the championship and the looser will play for 3rd place…) and a consolation (the winner plays for 3rd…)… The action is great… get out to the park and see these kids play!! The Championship and 3rd place games will be Tuesday at 7:30 at Governor’s Field in Carson City, NV. The Junior Division will also kickoff their district tournament tomorrow (Monday) at 5:30 on fields 1 and 6… 🙂 Photo of the day… had a tough choice tonight… but I thought I’d give this one the nod, already had a ball crushed by the bat image so far (got a GREAT one tonight…)… so I wanted to give this one the nod for a particular reason… This image was from 2012… I always remember this one because I was so bummed that I didn’t have the ball in the frame, it’s a photographer’s thing to remember such ridiculous things… 🙂 Anyway… move forward two years… and now we the same player, same team… and still slinging it to first to make the out! Here’s the post on the website… https://instaimage.com/2012/07/nevada-district-1-little-league-2012-day-eight/
… and here is today’s Photo of the Day… not quite the same jump but still the same determination to get that throw off! #littleleague #nevada #baseball
A Champion Crowned… Reno National 10’s won the Nevada District 1 Championship tonight in the “if” game… another very close battle with Reno American tonight! Congrats Reno National!!… and the Photo of the Day… I just love the concentration and determination in his face! He made the play too… that’s always a plus!
Day 9 and now a day break for the 4th of July!!! I’m ready for a break… will probably still have a camera around tomorrow but… looking forward to not running around the baseball park with a big heavy one! 🙂
Congrats to Washoe Little League’s 11 year old All Star teams for their win in tonight’s championship game!! They’ll be back in two weeks to play at the Nevada State Little League Tournament… right back here in Carson at Governor’s Field, starts on the 19th.
The 10 year old game will go the the “if” game on Saturday as Reno American won tonight giving Reno National their first loss of the tournament. They’ll meet again Saturday to decide the championship.
Photo of the Day… it turned out to not be a pivotal moment in the game but it sure makes for a fun photo!! I’ll let it speak for itself…. 🙂
Tomorrow is Championship Day for the 10’s and 11’s… the 12’s will continue through their tournament through Tuesday (assuming no “if” game…).
Come on out and see two championship Little League games tomorrow night, one at 5:30 and one at 8:00 on Field 2 at Governor’s Field in Carson City.
Photo of the Day… going for “Style Points” tonight… this Carson right fielder made the catch… probably made it look a bit harder than it really was but I’ll give him the Style Award for the night. 🙂
The tournaments are winding down… only two more days until the 10 and 11 year old Championships!! The competition is heating up! Back to a “Jube” photo for tonight with a little story to explain…
Bottom of the 6th inning (they play 6 in Little League…), South Tahoe just went up two runs to make the score 4-2… Two outs… Reno Continental runner on 1st after a cracking hit deep to the outfield… the next batter smacks one, and I mean smacks it hard… the South Tahoe shortstop jumps up and snatches it right out of the air to end the game… this is the reaction after… I could REALLY do without that SUV in the background but the faces make up for it all…
