Carson High Baseball… last regular season home game…

The season is wrapping up… Carson has one more regular season game tomorrow on the road @ Manogue… that game will determine what place they are in the standings along with the outcome of the Spanish Springs game… which decides if they’re home or away on Tuesday, May 10th in the playoffs.  Good luck tomorrow fellas!  Bring it home!

Just a few photos… start it off with the scoreboard, still lit up, which has been unusual to see when the team is meeting in the outfield…. except for that 5th inning run… The game ended on a bases loaded walk…

Senior Adam Whitt swinging for a hit…

And lastly… the ever elusive Coach Farnworth in “action” discussing what their next move was going to be.

Carson High JV Softball…

The JV Softball team faced a much weaker Hug team this afternoon…  Just a few photos here… quite a few more in the gallery from this season… click over to the right under Current Events… Carson High Athletics!!

Softball wraps up their regular season on Saturday at home with a double header.  The Varsity has already secured a spot in the post season… get out there and support your teams!!

The 2011 Carson High Baseball Team Poster…

After nearly a season’s amount of photos… I’ve put my idea down in print… I’ll be honest, this didn’t turn out quite how I had envisioned it but after spending nearly the entire season with the team… I’ll say that it does bring out some of the personalities on the team… I’m introducing it to the world tomorrow at the Sponsor BBQ before the Varsity game at 7:00 PM at Carson High…  Here it is for those of you that can’t make the game.  Like last year, I’ll be selling the poster as a fundraiser for the team… contact me if you’d like the specific details.

How many things can I pack into a day… and then…

What a day!  It started at the Carson/Douglas Varsity Baseball game at Douglas High… I shot a few innings of the game but more importantly I delivered the teams & individual photos I took the day before… here’s the varsity team photo.

When I left the game at the end of the third inning the game was tied… Douglas went on to win the game, splitting the series with Carson… Here’s a few from the game…

Shane with some fury to get the out at first and Matt for a base hit early in the game…

It doesn’t SEEM like a long way… but it can take what seems like forever to get from Douglas High to Carson High when you’re in a hurry to get to a double header!  Carson/Douglas softball was at Carson High… so off to Carson I went…  Here are some shots from those games….

When I got to the field and looked through the lens I immediately recognized this gal… she probably doesn’t know this but she’s our sample magazine cover girl at our action event tent… I immediately recognized the facial expression… I took the second shot back in 2009 at the Carson Valley Classic Softball Tourney…  This is part of what makes my job great… seeing these young kids come up through the system, each year getting better and better…

Here’s Carson getting the bats going…

Here’s probably my favorite shot of the day… High Fives for the Senator Man!

Whew… the day is done right?  Nope… home for an hour… see how my ill family is doing… (which IS contagious… and now I’m feeling under the weather but nothing a three hour nap can’t help fix…) and then up to Reno for the Aces game.

For those of you that don’t know, the Reno Aces have a great program for kids called Baseball Buddies.  Baseball or softball teams can participate… the kids get to run out onto the field with the player to their positions, stand during the National Anthem and then the player will sign one item for the youngster.  Well, my friend Jim with Carson Valley Little League asked me to be a part of his team’s participation last night… Thanks Jim!  Here are a few shots…

Unfortunately with my family all ill we decided last night was not a good night to go to the park… so this one’s for my oldest daughter… she LOVES Archie!

And I just couldn’t leave the park without getting at least one photo of the players… 😉

Busy photo day… Baseball, baseball, softball…

One “park” three games… whew!  Kicked it off with Carson vs. Douglas Varsity Baseball… then onto Carson vs. Douglas Jr Varsity Baseball… then onto Carson vs. McQueen Jr Varsity Softball… and I survived the wind…  Wow was it blowing tonight!

Carson vs. Douglas kicks off again on Saturday with SIX games!!!  Douglas hosts baseball, both Varsity and JV and Carson hosts a double header for both Varsity and JV… pick your poison and get out and support your team!!  I’m somehow hoping to catch a little of both… not sure how that’s all going to go but we’ll see….

Here’s some action from today… and of course there are a lot more on the site, check Current Events to the right… and pick your school or choose leagues & events at the top…

Start it off with the National Anthem… I love these photos… I LOVE being at the park and hearing the Anthem… I think it’s a very powerful thing… I don’t think most people really think about it while it’s playing, we’re very luck to be standing there at the park listening and enjoying the day, the game, our lives… Thank you to those over our Country’s history that have made that possible!!

We’ve got one week to go and these are my first photos of Colby pitching this year!  He’s pitched on the road mostly and one make up game at home that I missed… Hope I got the shot!  🙂

Walker looking to the dugout for the pitch selection… mom’s love this shot!  I really like this one too.

JV Baseball pitching… Thank you to the White family!  Hope you like these of Chase.

… and round it off with some softball action… The Carson ladies went extra innings tonight…

Always nice to see a smile out there!

I love the dynamics of softball… there’s ALWAYS something to be paying attention to when you get up to the higher levels… here the catcher’s throwing to first to try to catch a runner off guard… fun stuff to watch!

… and last… some ball and bat action from the girls!  Had to pick two… there are more!  Check the links to see the rest!

A day of baseball… Carson Varsity & Douglas JV

First up, Carson vs. Elko… The Elko boys got up this morning… drove across the State and almost… almost took one away from Carson today… and drove home after the game.  Carson won in the bottom of the 7th inning 12-11… not a pretty game… the photo below of Chance blowing a bubble kinda sums up the game… I’ll leave it at that.

… but first up, Casey working to make the tag…

and the photo I mentioned above… I’m not picking on Chance… he was just blowing this bubble while at bat… those are things that photographers are SUPPOSED to get… 🙂

Then it was off to Douglas High for the JV game against Damonte Ranch… again, not the prettiest of games… AGAIN… bottom of the 7th inning… Douglas wins 13-12.  Here are a few picks from the game…

James pitching… for those that know James, it’s no big deal, for those that don’t know him, it’s a big deal… he’s HUGE… I believe he’s 6′ 8″… and he’s a freshman!  I’ve been photographing James for a few years… always a pleasure!  Great kid, great family, REALLY great family!  Here’s today in a Douglas uniform and a few years back in a Carson Valley Little League All Star uniform… THIS collage started what we now affectionately refer to as the “mom shot”…

… and a similar comparo with Sully… glad to see both you guys out there playing still!!  Sorry for the potentially embarrassing photos of days gone by… just proud of you fellas for sticking with it and starting your high school “careers”!

Carson High Varsity Baseball tonight…

Tonight the team presented the Anderson Family a signed ball and CHS Team hats before the game.  As most of the community knows, Stephen Anderson and Keegan Aiazzi were killed in a scuba accident on April 9th.  Tonight was a tribute to the boys and their families… As we’re all very well aware, this has been a very tough loss for the community.  I’ve been very impressed with the team through this difficult time.

Just two photos here from tonight… there are more in the gallery, some different stuff tonight… some “Mom” shots 🙂

Here’s a before and after…  Typically the fellas take the field in their respective positions, tonight they stayed on the foul line together…

The fellas in the outfield for a post game meeting, after a big win tonight… Please take special notice of the bottom corners of the scoreboard.

Rest in Peace Stephen and Keegan, you were loved, you are missed, you won’t be forgotten….

Carson Jr Varsity Baseball @home today…

The Carson JV Baseball team hosted Reed today… they came away with a 10-3 win.  They play on the road at 3:45 on Thursday…

The Varsity is back at McNutt Field on Thursday night at 6:30 for the Stephen and Keegan Scholarship benefit game.  Come on out to support the students, the team and the cause…

Here’s some action from today’s JV game against Reed…

I’ve got to start off with Bob the Umpire… This is my fifth baseball season in the area… Bob and I “go way back” to the very first tournament we shot down in Gardnerville… he’s got a very animated “STRIKE THREE!!!”… the first one I caught is the first photo here… he’s a great guy, does a lot for the softball and baseball programs around here… He just got back from Williamsport for an umpire training!!  Always great to see you Bob!  The second photo is from today…

Back to the game action…  Opening pitcher for Carson… a shout out to Tyler… he “likes” us on Facebook!

Some bat to ball contact from Chance Blueberg…

The subtle things in a photo… look at the fingers on the ball… I don’t know enough about pitching to know what this does… but it looks like he does a good job of hiding it with his body…

Another one of the same… I liked the eyes…

First base stretch…
