Carson rolled to a first round victory tonight against Spanish Springs… Spanish Springs gave Carson a run of their money tonight… none the less Carson marches on toward the regional championship. Here are some photos from the night.

2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Douglas vs. Carson at Douglas
Congratulations to Carson for their 2015 Sierra League Championship!!
There is something about the Douglas field that has “troubled” Carson for every game that I’ve ever seen there… maybe it’s the fact that the field is named after Coach Roman’s dad… who knows what it is… Douglas moved the ball pretty well, Carson had some huge plays that broke the game open in the end and they walked away with a 42-13 win. Here are some shots from the night….

2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Carson vs. Galena at Carson High
Carson wins 51-21 over Galena heading into the final two weeks of the season with one league game left against rival Douglas in two weeks… Offensively Jace Keema was able to connect for at least three long pass plays with Connor Pradere to really open up the game and make it that much tougher to stop them… Galena obviously was able to exploit a few weak points in the Carson defense but only on a few plays… Great win for Carson heading into their bye week, time to get people rested and on the mend headed into the playoffs in three weeks.
Here are some shots from the night. I’ll be updating this post in a few days when my buddy Ron gets his gallery of the game up… 🙂
Galena’s running back Mateo Lemus seems to be floating around the field, here’s two photos with him “flying”… 🙂
Sometimes you get that catch just right!
Like last week, that one last block and Asa Carter was off to the end zone!
2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Bishop Manogue vs. Carson at Bishop Manogue
A day game… haven’t shot a high school day game since the 2014 State Championship last year (Gorman vs. Reed @ Damonte Ranch)! Today was Bishop Manogue’s Homecoming… and well, they chose a very tough opponent for their homecoming but they’re in a rebuilding stage with their program so…
Just a few photos from the day… I’ll start with the first touchdown of the day for Carson… when your teammate (who just happens to be your brother…) gives you one of those blocks that clears the path like Abel Carter did here for Asa Carter… you better make good and get yourself into the end zone and Asa delivered… 🙂

Jace Keema saw quite a bit of action today at Quarterback… he seems to have an uncanny ability to get his hand on his opponents helmet stiff arm style… I’ve got several photos in the gallery… 🙂

Carson’s Spencer Rogers making a tackle on one of Manogue’s receivers… there seemed to be a desire by the Carson team to make a bit of a statement today…

Manogue’s Johnny Cavilla flying at Carson’s Abel Carter for a tackle… these two used to both suit up in Carson Pop Warner jerseys…

A quick shout out to Nick Andreas for his sack today… good to see you back out there Nick… it’s been a long time coming to see you play this year!

2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Carson vs. Damonte Ranch at Carson High
Carson won at home against Damonte Ranch 17-14.
The hype about this game being close was no joke! And the game delivered a great deal of entertainment…. In my opinion the score doesn’t really reflect the overall “feel” of the game, Damonte started off strong (and Carson started slow…) and passed one into the end zone to take a quick early lead 7-0 and then looked to be threatening again but were picked off by double coverage in the end zone to end their second drive… then Carson got going… and after that, the “tone” of the game seemed to be all Carson… The offense wasn’t as successful as in games past but we all knew this was the game for first place in the Sierra League for 2015.
Here are some shots from the night.

2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Carson vs. Hug at Carson High
Very quick post tonight, it’s homecoming week so there are a lot of events going on… Soccer all day tomorrow at the school… 🙂
The team was fired up at the start tonight… homecoming week, there were a lot of things going on at the school and before the game… it was a pretty exciting atmosphere tonight…
A big congratulations to the entire homecoming court… it seems like just a few days ago I started photographing you all but it’s been eight years if you can believe that… all of you have grown up right before me… baseball, soccer, cheer, softball, football, volleyball, track, basketball… it’s been a lot of fun!
OH, and a game happened tonight too! The Carson Senators rolled to an easy victory over the Hug Hawks… the Hawks were without their starting quarterback, would have been nice to see him fit to play to see what they were capable of…
There were some impressive plays tonight… Abel Carter’s run early in the first quarter was impressive, one of the coaches was telling me seeing it from the booth, he wanted to see a replay of it because the cuts he made and the moves… going to be fun watching Abel for the next few years! Here he his making the fist touchdown run…

2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Carson vs. North Valleys at Carson High
Not pulling any punches here tonight… the Senators took it straight at North Valleys tonight and strolled away with a 45-7 win… You can look through the photos from tonight’s game… a lot of defense shots of the line backers trying to make pretzels out of the the North Valleys players… of course there are some offensive shots too… Abel Carter breaking one open and running 90 yards for a touch down…
All that said… North Valleys is going to cause some anxiety in some teams this year… they did move the ball against the Senators, but when it got to the red zone, the Senators tightened up and stopped them frequently.
Here are some shots from the night…
Greg Wallace dancing toward the end zone
Brandon Gagnon putting a hit on a receiver…

2015 MiLB, Reno Aces vs. El Paso Chihuahuas, September 4, 2015
Out of the blue about a week ago I was asked by 27OutsBaseball.com to shoot the Reno Aces… we’re very late in the season so I’m only able to get to one game, here are some shots from last nights game. Reno battled back from being down to win 6-5. The five game series continues with a double header on Saturday and a game Sunday and Monday… and the Aces are having fireworks after! They put on a good fireworks show!!
2015 NIAA Northern Region Football, Carson vs. Reed at Mackay Stadium
The 2015 Northern Nevada High School Football Season has begun! Tonight Carson and Reed had the privilege of playing under the lights at Mackay Stadium on the University of Nevada, Reno campus… (more on this later…).
Reed took things straight to Carson and racked up a good number of points in a very short period and easily defeated the Senators 44-27.
Here are some photos from the night.
The Carson High Navy Jr. ROTC Color Guard before tonight’s game!
A beautiful big full moon over the stadium tonight!
Mr. Denn took to the sky ALL night to night with a lot of passes, much more than I’m used to seeing at the high school level… Reed is going to score a lot of points this year… likely in preparation for meeting Bishop Gorman again in the State Championship again….
This was not a common sight tonight… Reed running the ball….
Just like this shot so I had to put it in… bodies flying….As nice as it was for the fellas to be able to play under the lights in Mackay Stadium… that was ALL they got to do… they couldn’t even go in the locker rooms at half time… kinda tacky UNR… not exactly the way to show potential future players what your program has to offer… I’m 100% positive if any of them go on a recruiting trip ANYWHERE they’ll at least be shown the locker room….
