Semifinals complete for the 10’s and 11’s… tomorrow’s Championship Night for the 10’s and 11’s… get your rest tonight fellas, the competition is fierce! There have been some great baseball games out at Governor’s Field for the Nevada District 1 Little League All Star Tournament! Come on out and see the 10’s and 11’s championships tomorrow, 5:30 and 8:00 (the 12’s play Friday at 8:00 PM)
Day six is in the books… the competition is escalating with each round… tonight I saw something I’ve never seen on the little league fields (this is our ninth year doing Little League All Star Tournaments in Northern Nevada… so I’ve seen a few games along the way…)
This shortstop backhands the ball, which I’ve seen countless times… but without hesitation he swings his left arm (with ball in glove) back toward second base and lets it fly back to the second baseman who was in position to record the out… very impressive young man… and with no effort whatsoever! 🙂 It doesn’t show as well in stills but I have the entire series if you want to take a look in the RALL gallery… Here is the backhand and the ball on it’s way to the second baseman.
We’re all feeling time flying ever faster it seems on a daily basis… I cannot believe that we’re now through day five of the Nevada District 1 Little League All Star Tournament! Just four more days to go for the 10’s and 11’s and five for the 12’s (the Juniors start July 6th).
I’m going with the intensity award for the day… I get to see this a lot in my photos, the faces athletes make… I always tease them when they have a great expression, “… if you don’t want it to show in the photos, don’t make that face!” 🙂 So the rest of you fellas, don’t tease because of the facial expressions, you might be next! 🙂
